Peter & Paul

A Living Sacrifice

Dear Brothers and Sisters, As I searched for inspiration for this week’s post, I found the text below. Paul sums up just about everything I wanted to say and does so perfectly. Let us be about the work; brethren, don't let this part of our faith fall to the wayward side. "5 so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. 6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy,

Give Glory to our God

“Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising lovingkindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 9:23-24 Ephesians 5:1 exhorts us, Christians, to be imitators of God. The few verses above from Jeremiah gives us an example of who God is, and how we are to be like Him. The Lord begins by saying that a man is not to give glory and honor to his own wisdom, strengths, and riches. These things came from God, and we ought to give the glory

Is Your Fruit Evident?

Dear Brothers and Sisters, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness (meekness), self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:22-25 We heard a wonderful lesson this Sunday regarding the 'signs.' Signs of Christ who was to come and who came and who fulfilled prophecy. Signs of mankind's war with sin and the need for God. And signs of our Christian walk today; our conviction, the lessons we learn from the bible and from each other, and our biblical charge. The signs

The Sacrifice of Independence

Dear Brothers and Sisters, I hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating the 4th and got to enjoy a myriad of vibrant and colorful explosions! It's a great time to remember our independence and freedom as a country. Rick preached a wonderful lesson about our independence as Christian's as well. Jesus came to this Earth and died for us that we might be freed from this world, from the sin which snares us, from the death which taunts us. At a time like this let us remember the beautiful spectacle of God's love, his creation, his grace, and his forgiveness. Let us take advantage of the truth of our Lord and to accept the calling he has set before us. Choose you this day whom you shall serve;
